Abstract. The relationship between “national” geographical schools and an increasingly globalized theory-building under the logics of Anglophone hegemony has generated critical debate within geography. This paper aims to contribute current discussions on development differential, language-based “schools thought” in geography how these are mobilized de- recontextualized when they travel beyond their origins. However, it does not focus period but intends shed a new, historically informed light politics knowledge production. Against this backdrop, we study why, with what consequences German traveled Argentina 1940s – end “German hegemony” following employment by National University Tucumán (UNT) four professors Wilhelm Rohmeder, Gustav Fochler-Hauke, Fritz Machatschek Willi Czajka, all whom had been institutionally ideologically entwined Socialism. Firstly, show that epistemic differences thought skillfully juggled geographers analyze here can provide opportunity for successful recontextualization theory. Secondly, argue boundary spanning traveling theory origins largely (implicitly) viewed as progressive should always be put context(s) assessed more cautiously from normative point view.
